But there’s a lesser-known accessory which despite its amazing capabilities, doesn’t get’s much attention.Īnd that is the iPhone clock dock. I have directly forwarded your report to the Kontakt team, and I hope a solution can be found quickly enough so that it comes into the next Kontakt update. We all purchase many accessories for our iPhones. Obviously there is a conflict between kontakt and the USB driver. However, we have sent them our software, so I assume taht they might be doing something too here. In fact we have been investigating issues with remote25, we have also been in contact with novation, but they failed to send us a keyboard to test with. Thank you very much for this detailed testing and report. Is it logical that rerouting via IAC does not make a difference assuming the problem starts with the USB driver?Įverything I see in MIDI monitor looks perfectly normal. Now could this be a problem with the remote 25 USB driver?Ĭould this be a problem with the way Kontakt handles USB drivers? The conclusion seems to be that Kontakt does not work with the remote 25 but works with other sequencers and rerouting does not make a difference. Rerouting the remote 25 via IAC with Kontakt works monophonic. Using Numerology (and I suppose other sequencers) with Kontakt works polyphonic Using the remote 25 with other softsynths works polyphonic Using the remote 25 with Kontakt works only monophonic I do not have naother USB keyboard to check if the remote 25 might be a problem. So Kontakt does not seem to be broken here. Then I used the Numerology step sequencer to send a 2 voice sequence to Kontakt and Kontakt plays a 2 voice line without any problems. I do not know if this is a viable check, but tried it anyway. I also thought it could have something to do with the way Kontakt recognizes the remote 25 as an input, so I used MIDI pipe to reroute the remote 25 into an IAC bus and route the IAC bus into Kontakt. Processor activity maxed at 30%, so this was not an isue. I have played with the number of voices allowed, setting it higher and lower, but none of this makes a difference (actually these were my initial thoughts too). When I hear more than one note, most of the time one or more notes hang, and I have to press the key on the remote 25 again to get a note off message (in MIDI monitor I noticed the remote 25 has implemented release velocity, so this is a real note off and not a note on with velocity = 0).

With Kontakt I hear most of the time one of these three notes (at random), and sometimes two or three notes. This is what I hear using other softsynths but not using Kontakt.

I play a chord on the Remote 25, for instance CEG and press the keys at the same time (disregarding MIDI being a serial interface and me being human.). I hope the following description makes it clear: The remote 25 works with everything else so I think the problem lies with Kontakt. Kontakt and the Remote 25 do not seem to work together. Soor to chime in this late but here is a repost of my problems with Kontakt and the Remote 25 and the reply I got from NI.
